I have a rooster in my backyard..

I wonder what time the sun rises in this city. I hope not too early! The first sound I heard when I entered my room, was a rooster making its characteristic sound. We just had lunch and I have already spent about 5 hours in Ho Chi Minh City. Comparing to other destinations in Asia, I didn’t find the airport especially crowded and I found Thao and her cousin very easily. They had even made a small sign with my name on it. So sweet! After the traditional negotiation with the taxi-driver we finally made it to my new home. One little issue that needs to be solved is getting a mattress that fits the bed I will sleep in for the next 6 months. Apparently, you can only find mattresses of one size in Ho Chi Minh – but this is of course no problem at all, as we are in the land known for tailoring more or less anything. So what happens is that I will get my mattress, two pillows that come with the deal and bed sheets tailored to the size of my bed – tomorrow……..!

As you may notice on this picture, my bed is made of wood… So this will be interesting to experience another night on a rock-hard bed – India was my first time, and I truly hoped it had been the last.. Auch!
